Boorawa, NSW

Many of the early settlers in Boorowa were ex-convicts and Ticket of Leave men, of these, many were Irish (often political prisoners) others, were fleeing the Potato Famine, and Scots the 'Highland clearances' of the early 19th century. This work force often stayed to take up local selections or businesses. The large number of Irish settlers gave Boorowa a distinctive society and culture which remained down to the late 20th century.

The main occupation of Boorowa settlers was wool. This heritage is still celebrated today in the annual 'running of the sheep' through the main street. Similar to running with the bulls (in Spain) but without the horns!!

Roast beef with lashings of pepper gravy, Yorkshire puddings and roast spuds and of course the obligatory 2 veg!

Glamping is so very hard!

Typically British The wind Break is for privacy Not for the wind. Plus it keeps Casper quiet!

Now some of you know that Casper is quite partial to a cuddly toy! So much so that he nearly stole a Teddy bear last week, that was sat on a chair outside an antique shop. I only just manage to rescue the damn thing as the jaws of death were about to shut on poor teddy's leg.

I suppose this is as close to Doggie torture that a cuddly toy thief can get?

His poor little legs were shaking like a leaf in anticipation!

Why dad? Why?
Why can't I have one?
Just one … Pleaaaaaaase … Pleaaaaaaase!

My ray of sunshine.
