Airlie Beach re-visited

Airlie Beach 22nd - 24th September 2013

I was checking my Facebook account when I noticed that my cousen Paul was touring with the Kye Cole band. this was an opportunity not to be missed and we headed down from Rollingstone to catch up with him. We haven't seen him for ten years and were glad to cross paths once again.

 Cousin Paul doing what he does very well. The band were fantastic to say the least and played music that both me and Andrea loved. A member of the audience must have also loved the music as he threw a fifty dollar note on the stage as a thank you!

 And that's, how not to do it!

Andrea (the groupie), Leon (bass) moi (the groupie in the hat) Paul and Kye. The beer flowed and the band played and a fantastic night was had by all.

 Andrea got a great shot of a Nankeen Night Heron (Nycticorax Caledonicus).

I didn't do so bad with the Bush stone Curlew sat on its nest.

I got just close enough to see the Curlew stretch and freeze, imitating a stick and although we could easily see the bird, from a distance it was impossible!
