Rollingstone

Rollingstone 14th -22nd September 2013

Bushy Parker park

We drove from Mission beach to Rollingstone along the Bruce Highway. Just on the outskirts of Ingham was a sign that we had to stop at. We had actually passed this sign on our journey North but had no photo opportunity.

For those that don't know the relevance of this sign? Andrea's surname is Taylor and her place of birth was Halifax (West Yorkshire).

Rollingstone free camp is normally a 48hour limit, however we decided to ask the rangers for an extended stay as we were awaiting parts from Townsville. Our Caframo fans were throwing hissy fits and failing to deliver any cool air. We ordered the parts and were told that they would take 2 working days. All we could do is wait and try and cool down some other way!

OH MY GOD LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT!

What dad What? WHATTTTT?

"It's this big Casper"!             WHAAAATTTTTTT IS?

Swim away, Swim away!

"Keep up fatty"              "That's it I'm not telling you what I saw"!

Nope not coming back in till ya tell me what it was!

The creek at Rollingstone was a bit silty but still very nice to cool off in.

It even contained mermaids in shades!

I just love some peoples humour. This is on the Bruce highway on the way to Townsville.

Peaceful doves (Geopelia Placida) abound at Rollingstone, you just about stand on them as they seem to have no fear of people.

This bird however has yet to be named and is giving this twitcher some cause for concern!
