Boyne river rest area Benaraby

Boyne river rest area Benaraby 27th - 29th September 2013

This is a 24 hour stop over along side the Boyne river. it is very pleasant although the amenities block could do with a clean and a repaint. That said it was ok and the cold showers in this heat wave was a blessing.

Plenty of space with most of the pitches having a good solid concrete base.

The house that looked out onto the free camp had some great works of art (well great in my eyes). I really love the fact that the artist has used old scrap to create these great pieces.

An artist with a sense of humour? What ever next?

The Massey Harris tractor had seen better days and in my opinion is a work of art in its own right! many of these old tractors pre 1940 are still running today.

These little cuties came down on an evening for a feed of honey and bread. Very very tame and a delight to watch as they hop around.

Most were Rainbow lorikeets (Trichoglossus Haematodus), there was a pair of Scaly breasted lorikeets (Trichoglossus Chlorolepidpos) and one can be seen in the top photo in the middle of the throng.
