Gin Gin rest area

Gin Gin rest area 29th September - 1st October 2013

It’s been quite some time since I updated the blog so apologies to all those that have been awaiting for an update. I will try harder in future to keep you all up to date.
We are still heading southward with a view to getting away from the oppressive heat that we have encountered just recently. We find ourselves once again in Gin Gin but this time at the rest area. It is a great free camp with plenty of amenities (reasonably well looked after).

There is plenty of space here and the ground is reasonably level and only a short walk into town.
We visited Gin Gin on our travels North. The town centre has some wonderful gardens to amble through, depicting the history of Gin Gin.

The wild life at Gin Gin is pretty spectacular, as can be seen. The blue faced honey eater is one of the many fantastic birds to be seen.

Gin Gin is a nice town and well worth a few days visit.
Some of you will know that I have had a bit of bother with the bus. It has a tendency to jump out of gear when under stress especially going up hill. I think it is time we made a pit stop to Stevo’s garage on our way through Gympie. I have already sourced a new gearbox at a cost of $650. Hopefully it won’t be needed and the issues I am having can be resolved by adjustment of the gear linkages!
